Vintage Wool

Last week I spoke about how little things can make me smile and this wool is another example of that. I woke up recently with a sudden urge to knit again. It might be the weather or me getting older but the urge was there. I saw some wool while grocery shopping and realised that wool is really expensive! I thought that I’d rather wait and find the perfect wool before buying. I spotted this wool at a charity shop and bought it immediately. I mean, who remembers a time when Ackermans sold wool?! I asked Rueben’s dad and he says he remembers and it was a very long time ago. I hope to make something very special with this vintage wool.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Shoe racks are awesome

I’m the type of person who can find joy in the little things. This little shoe rack made me so happy. It’s silly I know, but now I never have to search for my favourite shoes. They used to be in a heap in my cupboard which made finding shoes difficult in the morning when you’re in a hurry. I bought the shoe rack on Bid Or Buy and even though I hurt myself when nstalling it (Rueben said I must have been bad with Lego as a child) I think I should buy another one so the rest of my shoes can be easy to find as well.

In other news, the very sweet Sam has interviewed me over here and I know this is delayed, but Mr Price In the Fashion Loop featured me here. It’s such an honour for me to be on these sites! Have a awesome weekend people.

Bikini Beach Books

Bikini Beach Books on the beach front in Gordon’s Bay is my favourite book shop. They have a huge collection of second hand books at really good prices as well as new books. They have such an extensive collection that I always find many books to buy. It’s definitely worth a visit if you love books.

Toolbox/Jewelbox

I am actively looking for storage ideas and ways to organise my things especially my jewellery. We were walking down the toolbox section of a plastics shop when Rueben suggested that one of these little toolboxes would be great to store my jewellery. I think it was a genius idea! It’s compact, I can carry it around if I want to and the jewellery won’t get tangled because they are in different compartments.

If you’re South African I hope you are enjoying all the holidays. I am off for this whole week and enjoying being utterly lazy in the cold!

Street Art

It was Michelle from Cinder & Skylark who opened my eyes to all the beautiful art right in our streets. It just shows that you can pass a place a million times and not really look at it. These pics were taken at different locations in Cape Town that we passed by.
