The Thrill of a Sale
The YDE R99 sale, previously the R75 sale, has became a little tradition in my family. On sale day my sister and I wake up early, dress comfortably and persuade another family member to stand stand in line with the masses of other girls. Our hearts beat fast because we are nervous. We never know what we’re going to get. Will we be fast enough to grab that garment before someone else does?
When the doors open we charge in, go in different directions and grab what we can. We meet after our first grabbing session and check what we’ve got. We then move to the line where we take turns to queue while the other searches for more clothing. We queue for 30 minutes to 2 hours, but it’s worth it. By end of the line we have double the garments we started off with. We need to make quick decisions about what to take and what to leave! It’s torture!
Getting home is the fun part because that’s when we fit everything on and get excited about how lovely the garments look and fit.

Not only is this sale a fun and sometimes heart-wrenching shopping experience but it is also a time for sisterly bonding! I will definitely be at the next one!
Hehe, that sounds hilarious but like it could add up to be quite expensive! Sisterly bonding is always good though. : )
ahh.. there is nothing like a good old sisterly bonding sesh over a good old shop!

I used to be a window dresser for Truworths and we would have to put up the sale sign the morning of the sale because some people would camp outside the store when get there. It gets crazy… some doors were were even broken down.
But… Its worth it, because I don’t even think some of the garments cost R90 to make for the designers. Great stuff you got!
