Hi guys! I am so pleased to announce an exciting new giveaway. New online store Closet Space is giving away R150 store credit to one of you!

Women tend to have gorgeous clothing in their closets that may never be worn again. Closet Space helps these gorgeous garments find new and loving homes. Why should a fabulous cocktail dress collect dust in one’s closet when it could be flaunted on a night out?

Half a outfit post

The other day I tweeted about how I attempted to take my own outfit post using a tripod and a remote. It was not easy! Most of the pictures were a disaster, but I managed to take a few that were not too bad. So, as you can see there are some pics missing and that’s why I call this “half a outfit post”! It’s clear that taking your own pics is not for the faint-hearted. Practice makes perfect I guess.

New Cardi and Embracing Style Turns 1!

Let’s just get this out of the way, I love this new cardigan very much! It’s comfy and cute and I feel like it is so me! It’s a precious thing when you find a garment that you think is “you”.

Okay, now that I’ve gotten that off my chest let me say that this little blog turns 1 tomorrow! It’s funny that only a year has gone by but I feel like I have been doing this forever. I mean that in a very good way. I enjoy blogging just as much as I did when I first started and I don’t see myself stopping. I’d like to give to a big THANKS to Rueben for his constant support, opinions, ideas and help with this blog. You’re a star and I might have given up a long time ago if it wasn’t for you! I’d also like to thank all my friends and readers for their lovely comments, support and for reading this blog. Also, to my brother Daren who takes pics of me when Rueben is not available. It is much appreciated. I feel like I am getting too emotional now and so i leave you with this outfit.

Stripes and Pleats

I’ve been itching to wear this skirt ever since I got it in the post. I bought it from a new online vintage shop called Guard The Vintage. Today’s weather allowed me to take a break from Winter coats and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to wear the skirt. Don’t you just love wearing a new addition to your closet for the first time?

Vintage Wool

Last week I spoke about how little things can make me smile and this wool is another example of that. I woke up recently with a sudden urge to knit again. It might be the weather or me getting older but the urge was there. I saw some wool while grocery shopping and realised that wool is really expensive! I thought that I’d rather wait and find the perfect wool before buying. I spotted this wool at a charity shop and bought it immediately. I mean, who remembers a time when Ackermans sold wool?! I asked Rueben’s dad and he says he remembers and it was a very long time ago. I hope to make something very special with this vintage wool.
