Crochet comeback
I have been very fascinated by some of the recent trends including clogs, over-the-knee socks, denim shirts and doc martens/lace-up boots. The reason for this fascination is that all of these trends were popular when I was a pre-teen to teen in the 90s. Seeing all these trends reinvent themselves today brings back very fond memories for me as a young girl starting to discover fashion.
Crochet is one of the trends that were very popular when I was younger. I remember owning and loving a white crochet top very much at the age of 10. They were extremely trendy in Cape Town at the time. Although I loved my crochet top I was undecided on whether I’d indulge in crochet this time around. After seeing some pictures of different bloggers wearing crochet in very different ways it got me thinking that there is a crochet style for everyone.
What do you think of the crochet trend and how would you wear it?
Ha! I have to admit that I hadn’t thought of reindulging in this trend until now… it kind of reminded me of the dire crochet and tie-dye tops that my grandparents always brought me back from Cuba. Still, Miss Pandora and Nana do look pretty spectacular. I’ll wait and see what you do with it, maybe!
Even when it doesn´t is one of my favorites styles, I like to see it. It is so femenine!!!

You know, I never thought that 90s fashion would ever come back.
I have a ton of crochet in my closet and I still don’t know if it should see the light of day anytime soon.
I love the trend! I especially love sewed doilies together.
I love the first dress, I could definitely see myself wearing something like that if it can in my size and price range. I’m in Vienna atm and Crochet detailed tops are big here. I bought one to try the other day in bright purple

I love crochet…I don’t have any yet, but I had several sweaters and vests back in the 90s as well and wore them to death. These are lovely pics. Now I really want to go out and by a crochet sweater again:-)

Hadn’t even heard of this trend! I don’t think I would wear crochet, though. Except in a shawl.
I would wear it, but with the right piece. There’s a lot of crochet trash out there. I’ve seen some pretty ugly things so far. but those inspiration photos are pretty good. I would totally wear that.

Yes you are right-I remember wearing crochet when I was about that age too. I remember having a long white crochet sweater. I like the trend now…not loving it but like it. Have a fabulous weekend,

My boss’ family just got back from S. Africa and I met their doctor who is from there as well. I want to travel there some day.

I’ve also noticed the trend but I have noted that its worn in a very mordern way, growing up it was worn in a very bohemian way… I will definetly be indulging in it this summer.
